BKY STUDIO's lady behind the scenes, Rebecca Dreyfus.

Rebecca Dreyfus // BKY STUDIO

‍ ‍Growing up in the midwest, I've always had a deep connection with nature. Whether it be watching thunderstorms from my porch, wandering around in the muddy creek in my back yard, or digging for rocks and fossils as a kid, I feel like those early memories shaped how I've created as an artist and how that translates into my work without even knowing it. During my undergrad years in art/design school, I became infatuated with how organic shapes in nature could be juxtaposed with sharp, architectural lines found in city development. In my free time I was learning how to tinker on small engines as well as fabrication, which eventually would translate into learning metalsmithing.

‍ ‍ It didn’t take long for my love of sharp, clean lines and beauty found in nature to show up in my jewelry without even knowing it. I love the idea of creating pieces that are simultaneously striking and soft, masculine and feminine.

‍ ‍ Finding ways to romanticize the beauty that the world has to offer into objects has become a big passion, and thus BKY STUDIO was born. I created BKY STUDIO in hopes that it will transcend past jewelry or photography, and one day be an all immersive umbrella for any endeavor I want to explore.
